I had an interaction a few weeks ago that has been returning to my mind. Following a meeting with someone, I was told that I came across as rude during a conversation that didn’t go their way and that I should really be more mindful of how I say things. Essentially, in this particular meeting, … Continue reading My Time and Talents

That Ever Revolving Door
I am sure I am not the only one out there who feels like they have been launched through their early twenties, rushed past their mid-twenties, and are now hurtling toward their thirties feeling overwhelmed and underprepared for life at large. Anyone else know that sort of feeling? Quite often, I feel as though I am living in a scenario involving a revolving door. In this scenario, there are three main experiences: the anticipation of entering the door, being inside and mid-spin, or being released while stepping out the other side. Explore with me, if you will, a quick break down of these moments.
The Choices We Make: Trading One Struggle for Another
Life is made up of choices. From what we eat for breakfast, to how we spend our free time, to what we say to the people we love. Every choice we make has a consequence, for good or bad, and we all have to live with the outcome.
Thoughts Prompted By A Really Bad Video
I recently saw a video of me that had been recorded by someone else for a project. I was rather taken aback by my appearance in this photo and have been working through some thoughts about it in my brain, some of which come from issues I’ve been working through for a long time. Tell them they are smart or strong or powerful.” (Mostly for women, but this goes for men too). I worked hard … Continue reading It is okay to give compliments.
I can go the distance.
Hey everyone! To start, this time next week, I’ll be running my first 5K … Continue reading I can go the distance.
Life comes like waves.
I don’t know about you, but I have always felt drawn to water. I find a lot of peace when sitting on a coast somewhere, or on the edge of a calm lake. The glasslike surface of still water pulls my gaze and I often find my mind drifting from on incomplete thought or emotion … Continue reading Life comes like waves.
When God Opens a Window
The message I would like to share with you all today is centered around three main ideas: the Open Window, the Road less Traveled, and the Narrow Gate. A few years ago, I was approached by my Pastor a the time to share a sermon at church. She asked me to find a scripture that … Continue reading When God Opens a Window

Over the past few weeks of working in Mississippi, I've been told a few times (at both jobs) that my … Continue reading The Sunshine Girl is Out of Order
